A Taste of Ireland Orpheum Theatre - Wichita Concert reviews
Riverdance ....frankly I was disappointed
The lead female singer was truly impressive in this show. Disappointment arose from the small stage performance, the limited number of dancers, and the reliance on 'canned' music and other modern technology. The Madrigals performed exceptionally well. Those dancers exceeded expectations. I was let down by the absence of castanetwork from the Flamenco dancer, with the drummer instead taking on the role. The Russian dance segment did not meet my expectations; while the dancers were good, they fell short of what I had anticipated.
I had seen the performance multiple times with Colin and Jeane as the lead dancers, which made me curious about the other dancers in this show. Leaving the theater, I was left pondering why? If I had not previously seen the performance, I would have easily given it 4 stars, but in comparison, it fell short. It's intriguing that later in the review, there is a request for photos or video despite the audience being explicitly prohibited from taking pictures.
